Good to know

A playful comparison of broad preferences, not up-to-date immigration, cost-of-living, safety or employment advice.

How to use “Which country suits you best?”

This free Estimly calculator works directly in your browser without an account. Climate, pace, mobility, culture and scenery: discover eight illustrative destination profiles based on your priorities. Set the sliders to reflect your situation, then calculate. The result and its explanation appear in the green panel, or below the questions on mobile.

Which country suits your lifestyle?

Perhaps you dream of coastal towns, organised cities, mountain scenery or buzzing cultural hubs. This just-for-fun country quiz starts with everyday preferences rather than claiming to know where you belong.

Twelve sliders cover weather, pace of life, access to nature, public transport, travel and cultural interests. Your answers are compared with eight simplified destination profiles.

Eight illustrative countries to compare

Japan, Portugal, Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, Norway, New Zealand and Germany appear in the quiz. The profile values are qualitative design choices, not official quality-of-life rankings or measured national averages.

Conditions vary hugely within each country. The experience of a large city will not necessarily resemble a small rural community, so do not treat the match as a description of every region.

Why weather, mobility and culture matter

A climate preference can influence enjoyment, but daily life also depends on transportation, outdoor activities, culture and how much bustle you enjoy. The displayed percentage measures closeness to a preset profile, not the probability that you will be happy there.

You may have several equally appealing destinations. That is why a second profile is shown rather than claiming there is a single correct country for you.

A quiz cannot replace immigration research

Moving abroad involves visas, work rights, employment prospects, language, healthcare, housing, taxes and legal obligations. None of those time-sensitive realities is evaluated here.

Use the result to start a shortlist, then review current official guidance and local information. The calculator is a discovery game and not migration, safety or financial advice.

Turn a country match into a travel idea

You do not need to be planning a move to enjoy comparing destinations. Explore whether your preferences lean toward outdoors, city culture or slower coastal trips.

When planning actual spending, use Estimly’s holiday budget calculator. The Japan travel budget calculator can also help you build your own cost assumptions separately from this personality game.

A great holiday and a great place to live are different questions

A country may be ideal for a two-week trip without being the right place for permanent life. Holiday plans focus on scenery, food and experiences; everyday life also depends on housing, work, paperwork and local connections.

This quiz looks at broad lifestyle preferences. It is not a ranking of remote-working visas, immigration routes, schools or employment prospects.

How to use the runner-up country

A second match is not a consolation prize. It acknowledges that similar preferences can point toward several destinations. Look at the shared themes such as transit, city life, climate or access to nature.

For a serious decision, make a shortlist and research current facts. Housing prices and entry requirements change over time and cannot be inferred from personality answers.

How are the results calculated?

Every answer is scored from 1 to 5. Depending on the quiz, the tool combines descriptive dimensions or compares the answers with preset fictional profiles. A perfect match to an illustrative profile receives 100%, and differences reduce the score. This is mathematical similarity to our preset, not the probability of any real-world outcome.

The profiles make the output understandable, not a ranking of people. A different set of questions could produce a different answer. The responses are not clinically validated or compared against a representative population sample.
