Appliance electricity cost

Calculate kWh and running costs for a PC, server, console or appliance.

Understanding your estimate

Electricity use depends on actual wattage and operating time. Gaming PCs, consoles and home servers do not always draw their rated maximum power.

This tool helps with planning; it is not a quote, invoice or professional advice. Adjust the defaults to your own situation instead of treating them as national averages.

Comparing different scenarios

Try changing one input at a time to see which cost has the greatest effect. To compare two scenarios, write down the first result before moving the sliders again.

Use the reset button to return to the starting values.

Calculate appliance electricity use in kWh

Use watts × hours ÷ 1,000 to estimate kWh, then multiply by your electricity rate. For gaming PCs, consoles and other variable-load devices, the advertised maximum wattage may be much higher than average real-world use.

Example: a 150 W appliance running four hours a day uses 0.6 kWh daily, or about 18 kWh over 30 days.

How can I measure actual power consumption?

A plug-in energy meter is often more accurate than using a device’s maximum rated wattage.

Frequently asked questions

How do I use this calculator?

Move the sliders or enter a number. Results update instantly without signing up.

Is this result exact?

No. This is an estimate based on your assumptions. Actual prices, contracts, taxes and costs may vary.

Are my values saved?

Yes, only in this browser’s local storage. Reset the calculator or clear your browser data to remove them.

How do I convert watts into kilowatt-hours?

Multiply wattage by hours used, then divide by 1,000. Multiply the kWh result by your electricity unit price.

Does the rated wattage equal real electricity usage?

Not always. Appliances may draw less power most of the time. A power meter helps measure actual usage.
