Good to know

No live salary survey is used. Your benchmark is self-entered; this is not an objective assessment of your professional worth.

How to use “Are you paid what you are worth?”

This free Estimly calculator works directly in your browser without an account. Compare your annual pay including bonuses against a benchmark you supply. Explore hourly pay and a possible negotiation target. Set the sliders to reflect your situation, then calculate. The result and its explanation appear in the green panel, or below the questions on mobile.

How can you tell whether your salary is competitive?

Pay comparisons depend on location, industry, exact role, seniority, responsibilities and benefits. This salary worth calculator puts your numbers next to a benchmark that you enter yourself.

It does not access live job listings or current salary survey data. The result is arithmetic versus your chosen reference, not a verdict on your professional value.

Annual base salary, bonuses and total compensation

Start with your annual gross base salary and add annual gross bonuses you expect to receive. The tool compares that total with the benchmark you provide.

Make sure both amounts refer to comparable compensation. Equity, pensions, insurance and other benefits may have significant value but are not estimated automatically here.

Why working hours matter

Two people with similar annual salaries may work different numbers of hours. The calculator uses your chosen weekly hours and working weeks to show an approximate gross hourly figure.

This is a simple ratio rather than a payroll calculation. Overtime rules, holidays, employment law and non-cash benefits are not modelled.

Example: comparing €35,000 with €45,000

Suppose your base pay is €35,000 and you receive €1,500 in annual bonuses. Total gross pay is €36,500. Against a self-entered €45,000 benchmark, the difference is €8,500 a year, approximately 18.9% below that reference.

This alone does not prove underpayment. You must verify that the benchmark is relevant for the same duties, location and level of experience. A separate raise slider lets you explore a negotiation goal.

How to prepare for a salary negotiation

Use several comparable vacancies, salary surveys and published pay bands when choosing a reference. Consider workload, achievements and the full reward package before making a request.

For further calculations, Estimly also offers gross-to-net salary and raise calculators. They answer related but different questions, and none replaces employment or legal advice.

Finding a useful salary benchmark

Prefer vacancies specifying base pay, bonuses, location and responsibilities. A title such as manager can cover very different work across companies. Compare several salary surveys rather than relying on one range as absolute truth.

Keep amounts on the same time basis, such as annual gross compensation. If you work part-time or have significant variable pay, adjust the comparison before interpreting the gap.

Turning a gap into a negotiation plan

A 10% raise is easy to calculate, but securing one depends on business circumstances, responsibilities and discussion. Scenarios can help distinguish an aspirational target from a minimum acceptable goal.

Bring evidence: delivered work, outcomes, specialist skills and increased responsibilities. A formula cannot decide what somebody deserves in a broad human sense.

How are the results calculated?

Your entered values are used in the calculations explained in the result details. Change prices, income, amounts, durations or rates independently to understand how assumptions affect the output. These calculations describe scenarios rather than verified real-world outcomes.

Before making important decisions, check assumptions against statements, contracts or official sources. A precisely displayed euro amount does not make the underlying inputs certain. The reliability of the estimate depends on your own data.
